Full Journal pdf2005-05-04 Senate Journal Page 1333 SB 24 SPONSOR SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL NO. 24 "An Act relating to reemployment of and benefits for retired teachers and public employees and to teachers or employees who participated in retirement incentive programs and are subsequently reemployed as a commissioner; repealing secs. 5, 7, and 9, ch. 58, SLA 2001; providing for an effective date by amending the delayed effective date for secs. 3, 5, 9, and 12, ch. 57, SLA 2001, and repealing sec. 13, ch. 58, SLA 2001, which is the delayed effective date for secs. 5, 7, and 9, ch. 58, SLA 2001; and providing for an effective date" which had been moved to the bottom of the calendar (page 1315) was before the Senate. SPONSOR SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL NO. 24 was read the second time. Senator Green, Cochair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Finance Committee Substitute offered on page 1274. Senator Ellis objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, CS FOR SPONSOR SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL NO. 24(FIN) was adopted. Amendment No. 1 was not offered. 2005-05-04 Senate Journal Page 1334 Senator Seekins offered Amendment No. 2 : Page 2, following line 20: Insert the following new material: "(d) Notwithstanding (b) of this section and secs. 10 and 17 of this Act, it is the intent of the legislature that the provisions of ch. 57, SLA 2001, ch. 58, SLA 2001, and ch. 15, SLA 2003, that provide for the reemployment of retired members of the teachers' and public employees' retirement systems sunset on June 30, 2005, and the rights of retirees who were reemployed before July 1, 2005 and whose extended periods of reemployment are created by this Act are governed by this Act." Senator Seekins moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 2. Senator Ellis objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 2 be adopted?"
